Spring Break Day Trip

Colin had spring break from the 12-16 of March. This was my (Greg's) first experience with spring break, since I'd never had one in any of the schools I attended growing up. Luckily we were finishing up my current project at work, so I could take a few days off as well to enjoy a little bit of fun with the family.

On Friday the 16, we went on a day trip to a small town about 40 minutes south of Dallas called Corsicana. It has a main street that was built in the early 1900s and still had an old-fashioned soda shop where we sat at the counter and ordered a root beer float.

We also visited a Russell Stover chocolate factory/outlet. Unfortunately they didn't have any tours, but did have some windows you could look through to see people preparing some of the chocolate treats they sold there. We were all a little disappointed that we didn't get to go on any chocolate river boat trips.

After visiting that town, we went home and stopped in Arlington near our old apartment where we first lived when we moved down here to show the kids. We also stopped to play at a few parks.

Here's Colin and Spencer climbing onto a very thick and wide-reaching tree branch.

And here's some happy guy who waved for us while we took his picture.
