Utah Christmas Trip Part 3

Christmas morning was fun. We were at my parents house along with Sharie's family, and the kids were all pretty excited to come up and see their stockings. (The main presents were opened before going on the trip.)

Here's the kids at the top of the stairs, waiting for parents and grandparents to be ready. Everyone's in their Christmas eve pajamas.

Here's Colin and Spencer admiring their stocking presents. Sticking with the theme, Spencer's was mainly Pokemon and Colin's Yu-Gi-Oh.

Later that morning, the rest of the cousins and families arrived to exchange gifts.
Here's everyone in the grandparents' basement waiting for the go ahead to open their presents.

And the fun begins. Jeffrey brought a DVD of a fireplace that was projecting on the wall behind everyone (despite an actual fireplace on the other side of the room.)

I really liked this candid shot of the grandparents both caught in the middle of a non-portrait smile.

One of the presents all the older boys got was a set of laser tag guns. Most of the rest of the next few days was spent in the middle of giant laser battles.

Later that day the family had a talent show. I'm not sure when the picture above occurred, but it fit the theme. A lot of great songs were played and sung, and Greg performed some magic.

All-in-all we had a great visit to Utah. We played a lot of games, spent a lot of time catching up with family and friends, and learned that Texas' mild winter isn't such a bad thing. We're not sure when we'll get back (perhaps again this summer), but we always enjoy our time when we're there.

Some of the other things of note we did on this trip:
  • Rode Trax (train) downtown to see the Temple Square lights.
  • Visited Porter and Mary Bassett at Maria's uncle Bruce's home.
  • Visited Chad & Melodee Curtis and their family.
  • Ate at Tucanos Brazilian Grill
  • Had a full Whitehead family portrait taken inside K-Mart.
  • Had a full Whitehead family portrait taken inside grandparents' home.
  • Recorded a bunch of songs in a studio. (See three posts down.)
  • Played lots of Settler of Catan, Blokus, Munchkin, Guitar Hero, and Wii Sports.
