In early August, we took a three-day trip to San Antonio. At the State Fair last year, we had purchased a vacation from a time-share company, and we were running out of time to use it. So Greg took time off of work, and we hopped in the car and took the five-hour drive south.
The first day, we mainly walked around the Riverwalk and explored a bit. It's very colorful and picturesque, though a bit . . . aromatic at points. Last year when we went to San Antonio, we took a ride on a boat, but this time it was fun just to wander around.

We checked into our hotel and were pretty tuckered out, so we ate in the restaurant downstairs. It was pretty tasty. The boys had fun jumping on the beds in the room and playing with the Sleep Number beds (which are vastly overrated, in my opinion). Colin made me laugh by carefully hanging everything of his up on different hangers in the closet.
The next day we went to Six Flags. I didn't want to risk hurting my camera, so I took only one picture in the parking lot and left it in the car. (It's a good thing I did, too, because I got SOAKED on a couple of rides!) We took the boys on a rollercoaster that was a little too scary for them right off the bat, but they had fun overall.
After resting up at the hotel for a while, we went out exploring and found a really great Italian place in a mall downtown.
There's not much to say about the rest of the trip, other than how boring a timeshare presentation is. (yawn.) We made it back home just in time to pick up our babysitter so Greg and I could go to Roundtable (a monthly Scout meeting). It was really nice to have the break and get away.
