Spencer's birthday and baptism

Spencer's 8th birthday was on a Sunday. Luckily, we've just switched to afternoon church, giving him time to enjoy the morning in a leisurely fashion.

First, he opened his presents (there weren't a lot of them, since one was the Nintendo DS he'd wanted).

Then he spent time playing with them - these are Wedgits, a neat construction toy he'd seen in a store.

I love how huge his headphones are on him! What a cutie!

Spot adopted a rather entertaining pose next to Colin while he was playing Super Mario Wii, so of course we had to take a picture of that!

Spencer got candles in his food all day. Here's his birthday donut.

The boys grinning as they wait for the candles to relight yet again

Our family at Spencer's baptism. Despite the fun of the day, this was what he was looking forward to the most. He was very excited to become an official member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We really appreciated all the friends and family that came out to share this day with him.

And here's Spencer by himself. There's something so special about seeing your child all dressed in white and ready to take a step forward in their life.

We love you, Spencer!
