Day camp

This year, the boys went to day camp in Arlington instead of here in Fort Worth, since they were having theirs in the evening so that Greg could volunteer without having to take a whole week off of work. They had a great time! Luckily Greg took some photos on his phone, so we have some record of the week. I took my camera with me on family day, but unfortunately I wasn't a good scout and wasn't prepared - my battery ran out almost right away. ):

The boys got to participate in dozens of different activities and create lots of take-home crafts each day aside from earning several awards. I was impressed by how MUCH they brought home with them every day!

Here's Spencer with his camp shirt, hat, and badge ready for the fun to begin.

Spencer's Wolf Den sign & flag, next to Greg who volunteered with his den part of the week.

Here's Colin going down a giant slip & slide.

Here is the results of going down a giant slip & slide and sliding off the end. Colin's zombie pose is a nice touch. They had to hose everyone off afterward.

Here's Spencer working with his den to build some pretty sturdy step stools.

This is Spencer performing his "Little Feathers" skit on Family Day.

Here are the kids learning about First Aid and building First Aid kit neckerchief slides.

Spencer colored and hung an armadillo.

Colin showing off his colored creations.

In the gym, eating a picnic lunch on family day.

Colin showing off his new drum.

Colin & his friend Robbie with their indian headbands, waiting for another activity.

Colin, earning the astronomy belt loop, learning to use binoculars.

Colin shooting with bow & arrows.

The kids brought home multiple crafts, trading post purchases, and other items every day. Here is their end-of-the-week collection of Day Camp materials, including woodworking, totem poles, "talking" sticks, their targets from wrist rockets and BB guns, headbands, instruments, paintings and drawings, and more!

It was a wonderful week for the boys and we are so grateful to all the work that everyone put into it!
