Christmas and New Year's

It was a wonderful Christmas, with a new baby in the house!

We discovered that Jaden loves wrapping paper far more than presents.

Colin loved helping Jaden open presents. He's so sweet and patient with his baby brother!

Colin and Spencer modeling their new pajamas from Grandma and Grandpa Whitehead.

Our Christmas Eve turkey dinner. I firmly believe in taking it easy on Christmas, but I don't mind putting in the effort on Christmas Eve for a nice dinner (especially since that leaves leftovers for Christmas).

Some after-dinner Daddy snuggle time.

Spencer showing off his make-your-own pop-up book.

Colin looking at his new Harry Potter pop-up book. Notice that Jaden is just staring at the wrapping paper. (:

Jaden napping in his new pajamas from Grandma and Grandpa Whitehead.

The boys posing in front of our traditional Christmas Eve fire - this was the first year they got to light it themselves!

All the boys loved just sitting and watching the fire log burn for a while. There is something magical about fire!

More pajamas - nothing says Christmas like lots of skulls, huh?

The boys were feeling particularly goofy as they modeled their robes and pajamas.

Jaden was happily jumping as we set things up for Christmas morning. He *loves* his bouncer so much!

The boys piled up the presents on the fireplace so we wouldn't have to reach under the tree for them. Hey, whatever works!

We let Jaden have a sneak peek at his stocking. Don't tell!

Here's Colin, first thing Christmas morning, giving me the interactive felt card he'd made for me (based on Kirby's Epic Yarn). It was adorable!

The boys crawling around and looking at the electronic Hogwarts buildings that were a Christmas morning surprise.

We'd laid a sleeping Jaden by the Christmas tree when we got up, but he woke up fairly soon - and happy to boot!

I love this sweet look Jaden is giving Greg as he's being put on the couch.

Here's Colin reading a book he bought for Jaden to him. Colin put a lot of thought and effort into the presents he gave. Both boys did a really good job with their present buying this year.

Spencer dumped out his entire stocking, and then sifted through the pile. Here he is showing off the McLaren F1 Hot Wheel that he'd really wanted.

Colin and his "Bang" gun from his stocking. He opened his one item at a time, instead of dumping it out like Spencer. Honestly, I would have thought it would be the other way around!

Me showing off the Minnie Mouse that Spencer gave me. So cute!

Greg opening a Lio comic that the boys promptly ran off with to read. (:

One of the presents we all got in our stockings was a Maverick Nerf gun.

After all the presents were opened and we were ready for some entertainment, we had a giant Nerf war. It was hilarious!

This is one of the coolest presents we got, from Greg's parents - a puzzle of our own family picture. It was very fun to put together (but surprisingly difficult, with all those leaves)!

Next up - New Year's Eve. We had a low-key day, which was actually really nice. This is how Greg occupied the hours until midnight. I was working on puzzles (when Jaden allowed), and we were all watching Merlin (great show, by the way).

The boys were SO excited that they'd actually stayed up until midnight! They were more awake than I was. I went promptly to bed, but they actually stayed up with Greg for another half hour or so.

It was a great end to a great year!
